Music Video Links

I managed to find a few video links to songs I’ve recorded and mixed.

The quality of some of the sound transferral is poor (one of the perils of pre-digital audio): two are in mono and the two Chrome Safari clips are truncated.

Despite this, these are productions I have a special fondness for, and think the production values shine through.

Dating from 1986: Chrome Safari: is that a prescient band name or what?

The project was driven by songwriter/singer/multi-instrumentalist/producer/engineer/quiet genius Simon Alexander (Zenor).

We’d both worked out of Harlequin Studios for about 5 years before finally working together when he asked me to share in the production of these two songs.

The sessions were focussed, creative and utterly satisfying. We had a ball exploring new technology and fresh approaches to the recording process.

“…there’s a way to win…that is don’t give in…”

This was to be my swan song to Harlequin and full-time music engineering.

I’m trying to source high quality audio files of these two songs.

If you can help, please email me as per the CONTACT US tab.

DD Smash. This song only just made it onto the ‘Cool Bananas’ album.

We were well into the mixing stage of the album when Dave Dobbyn rushed in one morning, fizzing with excitement and desperate to record this song, which he’d just finished writing.

Tracked in one day, its freshness and vitality still shine through.

Hip Singles. ‘After The Party’ was the B-side to the ‘This Is Good-bye’ single, thus we didn’t have time to pay full attention to its arrangement.

Despite this, I love its raw energy, its ‘mojo’.

I wonder if this is why they made a video for this song instead of for the A-side’?
